Fall/Winter 2026 Program

Winnipeg Phoenix FC is excited to welcome our youngest players back to the field with our Minis and Micro Soccer Programs.

Designed specifically for children ages U4 to U7, these programs introduce young players to soccer in a fun, positive and age-appropriate environment while helping them develop fundamental movement and soccer skills.

The program begins Friday, October 16, 2026 and runs for 10 weekly sessions at Gateway Recreation Centre.

Program Groups

Micros - U4 & U5
Birth Years: 2022 & 2021
Fridays: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Minis- U6 & U7
Birth Years: 2020 & 2019
Fridays: 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM

Location: Gateway Recreation Centre
Program Length: 10 sessions, once per week
Cost: $200 + applicable Manitoba Soccer Association registration fee

About the Program

Our Minis and Micro programs are focused on helping young players develop a love for the game while building the physical and technical foundations they will use as they progress through soccer.

Sessions will be energetic, engaging and appropriate for each age group, with an emphasis on:

• Fundamental movement skills, coordination and balance

• Ball familiarity and basic soccer techniques

• Dribbling, movement and introductory game concepts

• Small-sided activities and games

• Confidence, creativity and enjoyment

• Learning to participate within a positive team environment

At these ages, the priority is fun, engagement and development, giving every child plenty of opportunities to move, interact with the ball and enjoy playing soccer.

Micros - U4 & U5

Our Micros Program is designed for our youngest players and provides an enjoyable introduction to organized soccer.

Sessions use simple games and activities to help children become comfortable moving with a ball, interacting with other players and learning basic soccer movements in a supportive environment.

The emphasis is on having fun, staying active and building confidence.

Mini - U6 & U7

Our Mini Program builds upon those early foundations and introduces players to more soccer-specific skills and small-sided game situations.

Players will continue developing their comfort with the ball while beginning to improve their dribbling, passing, movement and understanding of the game.

Sessions remain focused on enjoyment and individual development rather than results or competition.

Registration Fee

Program registration is $200 per player.

The program includes 10 weekly sessions running from October through the winter period.
